Learn about the Australian Flathead Perch

Also known as the Rainford’s Perch is one of the most expensive fish in the hobby. If you can find one expect to pay 1-5K.

It is possible to breed this fish, so it is a little odd for it to still be this expensive. This relatively small fish ranges from 2-6”. It appreciates a rocky aquascape for lots of hiding places. Fortunately, this fish is not very picky about food. Also, a plus, it is not particularly sensitive to water conditions.

It is also not overly susceptible to disease. Feed smaller size carnivorous foods like frozen Mysis shrimp. For good nutrition include high quality omnivore preparations.
